Author - Vail Kristina

Vail Kristina was born and raised in the United States. She moved to Mexico in the university and met her husband in the main square of their town within weeks of arriving. Being immersed in Spanish for two years, with the necessity and desire to communicate, she soon taught herself Spanish with books, flashcards, games, and conversations. She then studied education and became an English and Spanish teacher.

She taught in bilingual schools for nearly 20 years; every grade from preschool to high school, university, and professional training. Second grade and fourth grades were her favorite grades. In her private lessons her youngest student was 14 months old and her oldest student was 85 years old.

She became a federally accredited tour guide and the manager of Taste of San Miguel food tours over ten years ago. The number # 1 tour company in the city offering seven different food tours. Something for everyone of all ages, from Chocolate and Cobblestones to Tacos and Tequilas and even Ghost Stories and Snacks.

But since she was four she said that she wanted to write and illustrate books when she grew up and now that she is as grown as she is going to get, she has finally become an author and illustrator. Her books bring her love of teaching, parenting, and guiding, together with her bilingual award-winning storytelling skills and her love of rhymes, writing, drawing, traditional and modern Mexican cultural traditions all into one place to bring you Rabbit Writer Books.

Company - Rabbit Writer

Rabbit Writer Books was born when Vail Kristina tried to write her first children’s book, which turned into a 52 chapter novel, called Messages from Mictlán (Mictlán is the 9 level Mexican Underworld of the Dead). Soon to be published!

It took a while but she finally found the rhyming bilingual short story formula. She is creating paperback books, e-books, audiobooks, coloring books, activity books and even language learning books. The books  are perfect for bilingual families, homeschools, English and / or Spanish classes for children and / or adults.

Two of her first books tell the same story, of how an American Tooth Fairy met the Mexican Tooth  Mouse. One book is told from the point of view of Fey “the Tooth Fairy” Fairies. The other  is told from the point of view of Pedro “the Tooth Mouse” Pérez. She already has over 30 books written, and hundreds of book ideas. She hopes to be able to dedicate all her time to illustrating and publishing  and then writing, illustrating and publishing more  books for many years to come.  Sharing traditions and legends like the Three Kings, the Virgin of Guadalupe, the Day of the Dead, stories about foods, plants, animals, pyramids and Spanish speaking countries.

She is passionate about making learning fun and interactive and promotes conversation among classmates, friends, and family in English and in Spanish.
